Negative experience: This has been a thoroughly stressful and disappointing process - I would therefore not recommend Richard Hayward nor Harris Real Estate to anyone. Dealing with Richard Haywood was awful. Pleasant enough until the deposit was paid, he then descended into the most insufferable agent I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with—and that’s saying something after nine property purchases. He repeatedly removed my partner from every email thread, despite me adding her back in. Petty, unprofessional, and frankly bizarre. His overall manner was one of irritation, as if answering questions or providing basic service was a personal affront. Then there were the broken promises. The property was supposedly going to be cleaned before we moved in. As you can see from the photos, it was anything *but* clean. When I challenged both Richard and the principal, Phil Harris at Harris Real Estate, I was met with the dismissive response that it had been cleaned—just not to *my* standard. Well, I ask if this is to your standard that you can see from the photos. I would never recommend Richard or Harris Real Estate and it astounds me from this experience how they have any clients at all. I take no pleasure if speaking badly (albeit honestly) of someone or a company, however I had expected professionalism and human decency, sadly they didn't come close.

Fantastic experience: Harris (Jayden Finch) made our sale an easy and well managed process. They did everything we needed to get our investment unit on the market, great turnout of people to the inspections, and a fast sale above the price we expected. Can't ask for much more than that.

Negative experience: We rented with them while we were in between houses to purchase a house. We faced dodgy practices which seemed to be standard procedure for them, around bond refund. Tenants must lodge with the competent authority the refund themselves because the agency will not lodge the application. This agency will not lodge the bound refund but will, in any case, try to ask to detract money from the bound. This practice looking at the other reviews seems to apply as standard procedure to all including those who paid upfront for an exit cleaning. For those who signed with them l suggest to take pictures, lodge the bound request on the same day you leave, ignore their emails for request of money. You can assume that their request to collect money is just standard procedure and they will not have evidence to bring the case any further.

Negative experience: The rental manager Alanah W (and her Manager Peter) did not answer her mobile (4 calls) or a message left with reception, or reply to three emails. So this whole week no response to a tenant issue! Don't use them either as a landlord or tenant, or you are bound for endless trouble Note because of their incompetence the police are now involved.

Fantastic experience: Phil Harris and the entire Harris Team ar the most professional, efficient and agents I've ever dealt with. They have sold a house for us, we have rented a property through them and now bought a house with Harris, all seamlessley. I have worked in the sales industry for 20+ years and the Harris Team are the best of the best.

Negative experience: I recently had a very disappointing experience with Troy Law from Harris. As a first-time homebuyer, I was considering purchasing a property in Magill and initially appreciated the effort to arrange inspections during the cooling-off period. However, after careful consideration, I decided not to proceed with the purchase. When I called the office, I spoke with Lauren Courtney, who then put me through to Troy. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Troy was incredibly rude and said, “thanks for wasting everyone’s time.” He went on to say that their company would not welcome me, would blacklist me, and wouldn’t do business with me in the future, whether I was buying or selling a house. What’s worse, this conversation happened in their office, so everyone, including Lauren, probably heard him speak to me in such a discourteous manner. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of professionalism. If you’re thinking of doing business with Harris, be aware that their customer service may only be good if you are 100% committed to buying. Otherwise, you might find yourself treated with the same disrespect and hostility that I experienced.

Negative experience: Appalling treatment as a tenant back in 2020. Complaints fell on deaf ears including feedback to Phil Harris. Treated like a rockstar though when I bought a property through the same office in 2024. Tenants are treated poorly, buyers treated like family. It’s how you judge a real estate agency - how they treat their tenants.

Negative experience: Hi all , I had purchased a property with one of the agents 12 months ago , under the acts and regulations , the agent should not be providing misleading information to buyer when asked , and that had unfortunately happened to me , which is an existing condition with the property and just came to my attention to date when certain renovations had to be done and cost me some $$$ to fix it. Just sharing my experience so it provides more awareness to fellow buyer and the trustworthiness of the agent remains a question mark when it comes to property purchase - I hope you will not encounter the same issue and I also hope Harris can reach out to provide some damage control action to this incident.

Negative experience: Bad experience. We liked the property in Redwood Park and offered way more than the listed price. However, after few weeks the property was sold 10k less than we offered. Even though we were in contact with the agent, he didn’t provided us with any required information. We do understand, that agents do their job but they also need to understand that buying a house is a mental and financial investment.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for the best agent in the North-East area, Andrew Farnworth from Harris Real Estate is the guy! Coming highly recommended by various family and friends that had used Andrew prior, he didn't disappoint. Andrew knows the area better than anybody else I know and was able to translate this expertise and existing networks into achieving a sale price far exceeding my expectations and in less than a week on the market. Andrew is an extremely genuine person that you can tell loves to see his clients happy the most!

By mindlessly distributing unwanted pamphlets, they're needlessly wasting paper and energy in the printing and distribution process. This disregard for environmental impact is unacceptable in today's world, where sustainability should be a priority. Harcourts Sheppard's careless behaviour not only disregards customer preferences but also harms the planet. Their actions are a shameful display of negligence and disregard for both personal boundaries and environmental responsibility.

Fantastic experience: My Mother in Law Bernice used the services of Harris Real Estate more specifically Matt Lange of Harris Real Estate recently to sell her family home of 30 years to downsize to a lovely Retirement Estate at Moonta Bay. She is 88 years old and Matt made the whole selling and open inspection process simple for me, her son in law and more specifically for Bernice. Its not an easy thing for your home to go on the market for an 88 year old. Matt made everything about it easy, always taking the time to ensure Bernice understood exactly what was happening along the way with the sale process, and forms and reasons for the next action and anyy change in the marketing strategy. My mother inlaw loves a chat and at no time did Matt cut the conversation short with her and that was going beyond the call of duty I say! Well done Harris Real Esate! Well done Matt! We ares selling our family home in late 2024 or early 2025 and Matt Lange at Harris Real Estate is our selling agetn without a doubt.

Negative experience: Terrible experience renting a house with Harris Real Estate Agency, Kent Town. I rented a property in Glenside for nearly 6 years and whilst residing in that property, we were always up to date with the rent and all other dues and did not fail to make any payments. I used the cleaners -recommended by Harris Real Estate Agency and charged me $660 and another $270 for carpet cleaning and shampooing. The carpet was more than 10 years old. In total, I paid $930 just for cleaning. The Real Estate Agent Claimed $1320 out of my bond money and additional $330 was charged to me for cleaning. Some of the items claimed by the REAL ESATE AGENT -Melad Ahamd are incorrect as they were present before we moved into the house. The matters have been resolved at SACAT. Melad Ahamad lied about the state of the property to try to keep my bond. Be aware of your rights. Don’t feel intimidated by them. Document everything and keep a record of every evidence when you are moving IN and record /keep all communication through email. Do not be anxious about SACAT, as you will get a free Legal Aid/Service and fight for your rights. Very unsatisfied with the service and stay away from this Harris Real Estate Agent.

Negative experience: We understand that you have lot of applicants for houses you advertise and it’s clear that only one will be chosen , However it’s completely unprofessional not to notify the applicants if the agent has found the tenant . I received about 5 -6 emails from Alannah from inspections to registrations to non attendance (irrespective of my partner went for inspection and me checking later ) , even called her informing the same though she seemed so disinterested when I called to inform . We were bit positive since we took about more than 30 mins to register along with some fees etc paid online..we even skipped some inspection during the time , today we found out ( only when we called them ) that they have already have found the tenant .7th email about rejection would be appreciated ..

Fantastic experience: I found Andrew a very easy person to deal with. His knowledge of our area was terrific and nothing was to much trouble. We met several years ago at an open and had him value our property, he presented as a man I would want to sell it and told we would contact him when we were ready. In due course we did proceed, and he was sure he could get the price negotiated and then some. He did achieve this and I would highly recommend his professional and friendly nature and he is a nice bloke as well.

Negative experience: I have encountered Harris as a property management company after selling my property through another agency and having the new owner use them as a letting agency for 2 months. Ongoing issues for over 5 weeks now trying to have a bond returned after leaving a simple picture on a wall which was present on sale. I have never dealt with a more petty agent and clearly will do anything to retain bonds for tenants…

Harris are just the most professional, reliable and trustworthy Agents you can find. Laura was looking after us on this occasion and she was impeccable in every area of selling. She sold our Son's unit within 12 days and we cant fault her in anyway (nor could we when we originally purchased the unit through Harris with Sarah nearly 6 years ago). Negative experience: I would not recommend Harris for property management. The property managers were constantly changing. I had a new property manager almost every 12 months on one property. They did not communicate maintenance or damage to the property as expected, if at all. As a result, the condition of my properties deteriorated under their management. I also found that I had to constantly follow up to make sure things were getting done. They also missed routine inspections. In late 2020, I renovated one of my properties. It didn’t take long for Harris’ poor management of the property to lead to the original condition not being maintained. Repairs from a hailstorm were left unfinished with nothing being done for months. It appeared to me that the property manager just forgot. There was still no urgency to rectify this when I made them aware. Instead, they just wanted to blame the plumber, and then blame the tenant for not reporting the incomplete repairs. Harris would not accept responsibility that they were doing a bad job. They did not notify me when the original damage occurred nor did they do the routine inspection that could’ve reminded them to arrange the remaining repairs.

Fantastic experience: I sold and bought a property using Harris Real Estate. I found both agents extremely helpful during this time. I sold a lot higher than first expected which gave me the opportunity to buy a more expensive apartment in a nicer suburb. I am happy with my purchase and happy with Harris Real Estate for making this possible. I cannot speak highly enough of what my agent did for me. Thankyou
