Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NOT YOUR NORMAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT REVIEW. READ ON FOR THE SIX-MONTH METH-FUELLED HOUSE HOSTAGE SITUATION. There are property managers who collect the rent, organise the occasional plumber and send you a Christmas email. And then there’s Professionals Rockingham. Our relationship began in 2021, during what can only be described as an interesting chapter in Western Australian real estate. We ownED a house in Port Kennedy. We were living in Switzerland. WA had effectively locked the gates during COVID, so getting on a plane and popping over to sort out a problem wasn’t exactly an option. Enter Airbnb. A bloke booked our house over Christmas, got access slightly early and, within hours, cancelled the Airbnb booking. Unfortunately, he neglected the traditional second part of cancelling an Airbnb booking: LEAVING. Instead, a collection of his associates moved in and our lovely Port Kennedy home embarked upon an unexpected new career as what could generously be described as a six-month residential retreat for people making some fairly questionable life choices. This is approximately when Professionals Rockingham came into our lives. And thank Christ they did. There was no conventional tenancy agreement. We were 14,000 kilometres away. WA was locked down. Our unexpected residents had absolutely no enthusiasm for moving out, paying rent or participating in the normal conventions of human civilisation. Basically, it was the sort of property-management situation where the standard training manual probably just says: “Yeah… nah.” But Professionals took it on. They dealt with the occupants. They dealt with us in Switzerland. They navigated the legal/process side of an absolutely ridiculous situation. Somehow, despite there being no proper rental agreement, they even managed to extract some money from our involuntary tenants. Eventually, after months of persistence and with assistance from the police, our six-month episode of Breaking Bad: Port Kennedy finally reached its season finale and the house was returned to us. Kids, the lesson here is simple: don’t do meth. And if you absolutely insist on doing meth, please don’t do it in my investment property. You might imagine that after an introduction like that, Professionals Rockingham would have changed their phone number and pretended they’d never met us. Instead, they’ve managed the property ever since. Thankfully, the sequel has been considerably less exciting. We now have S.D, who has been a fantastic long-term tenant and is essentially the polar opposite of the opening act of this review. If S.D. has an issue, he contacts Professionals. They sort it. If something needs our attention, they contact us. We deal with it. Exactly how property management is supposed to work. And when you live on the other side of the planet with a seven-hour time difference, having people you genuinely trust on the ground is worth its weight in gold. So after roughly five years, one pandemic, an international border closure, an accidental six-month squatter saga, police involvement, countless emails and finally years of wonderfully boring normality, we can confidently say: Professionals Rockingham are bloody excellent property managers. They didn't win us over because everything went smoothly. They won us over because when absolutely NOTHING went smoothly, they stuck around and dealt with it. And that, frankly, is when you find out whether your property manager is actually any good. Five stars. Would absolutely recommend. The property managers, that is. Not meth.

Positive experience: Sally helped smooth the process considerably, when I recently bought a house in Waikiki. It was a difficult and somewhat stressful situation, as between making my initial offer and the acceptance, the previous owner (an elderly lady) died. So the sales contract was subject to probate being settled within a certain time. Sally was a good communicator throughout this process. She encouraged me to get advice from my own settlement agent before signing. After this point, she followed up with information I had requested (house plans etc) and regular updates on the probate. She was approachable and returned calls promptly, when we had issues to follow up (the bank transfer was delayed, so the sale was later than the original settlement date). Also with issues arising from the house inspection. I found her helpful, friendly and professional.
