Negative experience: Our experience with this agency was incredibly disappointing. The property was sold with a 42-day settlement, however, they didn’t serve the notice to vacate to the tenants early enough in the sale cycle so they were not due to vacate until after our settlement date for vacant possession, meaning the timing simply did not align from the outset. Rather than accepting responsibility for this obvious oversight, there was a constant attempt to shift blame onto us for exercising our contractual rights instead of acknowledging the error. Communication throughout the process was poor, but what was most disappointing was settlement day. After weeks of delays, uncertainty and unnecessary stress, the principal, Adrian, was nowhere to be seen. Complete radio silence. Instead of dealing with the matter himself, we were told by Jake that he suggested he step in because “they’re a team” and he would handle it. While Jake was pleasant to deal with, that explanation completely missed the point. Adrian is the principal of the agency and had been managing the sale. He should have taken responsibility and dealt with the matter personally, particularly given the issues that had arisen throughout the transaction. For someone who promotes ethical standards, integrity and exceptional customer service, our experience was the complete opposite. A lack of accountability, poor communication and an unwillingness to take responsibility turned what should have been an exciting milestone into an unnecessarily stressful experience.

Negative experience: I wouldn't even give one star. They do not deserve any star. We had very awful end of lease experience. We did the carpet and end of lease cleaning by professional cleaners. But they still deducted 80% money from the bond. I did see other reviews mentioned the same issues. Those are all legitimate reviews and happened to us. They gave us permission to wall mount the TV as we have young kids. Then end of the lease they took off bond money repair the wall. Especially if you can stay away from Emma Slocombe, she wasted so much time of us with emails after emails. All they want is the bond money. We have rented about 5 places over almost 10 years in NSW, none of the real estates ever deducted bond money. So be careful before signing lease agreement with them.

Negative experience: Our experience with Stone Real Estate Gosford has been extremely disappointing. When we first rented the house, it was not properly cleaned — the carpet was sticky and clearly hadn’t been washed. When our lease ended, the agency expected us to return the property in “brand new” condition, which was unreasonable given its original state. They also asked us to repair the blind curtains and sent a quote for $500. We told them we could arrange a cheaper repair, but they refused to let us do it, claiming they couldn’t allow anyone without insurance to enter the property. The company we selected did have insurance, yet they still rejected it and eventually deducted the amount from our bond. Overall, our experience has been frustrating and unfair. We would not recommend Stone Real Estate Gosford to anyone.

Negative experience: Started off feeling so happy because I felt like I was dealing with such lovely people at this agency, but over time the overall attitude changed. What’s with the massive ego and domineering attitude? Some of these younger leasing/property managers/“investment managers” are immature, gossipy and spiteful and it shows. Absolutely no need for some of the snarky messages, voicemails and emails I’ve received of late.

Negative experience: Very bad experience specially at the end of lease. Never had bond deducted from previous tenancy. Poor communication and all the rights reside with the owners. You might hear a lot of the legislation and laws, but tenants just make sure it’s applies in your case and what it is. We were lucky that we had Nancy from Central Coast Tenancy Services who helped us at the Tribunal.

Negative experience: The service quality has been degraded very badly in recent times (although I received good service from Kayla before). An expert from STONE recently suggested a rental increase of $10 for this property, far below the market price. I then did the market research, and we ended up with a weekly rental increase of $110.

Negative experience: I would not recommend Stone if they were the last agency on earth. They managed our rental from when they were Ray White and then changed to Stone. Every request we made either would be ignored or kicked down the road for a few months. Our rental didn't have a working ignition for the stove? Just buy a lighter said Kayla. You had major leaks for months which caused mould issues and you had to evacuate? 1 week rent relief. Your intercom doesn't work? Too bad. As a landlord, you won't get information either as we had to reach out to ours personally multiple times so I don't even know what you're paying for. I know REA get a bad wrap and these guys are the literal reason why.
