Negative experience: Incredibly disappointing. I had a replacement hot water system happen without my knowledge. The communication is terrible. I get emails without a name attached so who knows who sent it, absolutely zero accountability. Will be changing to a different company as soon as I can.

Fantastic experience: Excellent support from the rental team including Michelle whilst tenanted. Caring and supportive. Incredibly quick sale, sold within a day without even getting to advertisement. Cordell used his knowledge of his customers and what they were after to attain a buyer in no time. All interactions were instantaneous, professional and accurate. Never pushy, always caring, supportive and providing options. Price attained above market, there were no compromises in any regard. 6 stars out of 5.

Negative experience: If you seek Apathy,  Misrepresentation, Mismanagement,  inflated repair costs, Income loss, and property damage, then you shoud list your  investment property with the Devonport Harcourts team. Who is to Blame??? The principle who could not even spell her email address correctly and then said *quote* "it might be the way it went through". Or: the property manager who turned up hungover and still drunk the day I asked for an in person property inspection? Agencies like this should not be allowed to profiteer at the consumers expense. Below are photos of how the property was handed back to me by this Agency .

Negative experience: I provided a single star as the option to give none doesn't exist. Whilst managing our property over $70,000 damage was incurred by separate tenants. Each time their exit reports failed to flag the damage and each time the manager responsible left their employ.

Fantastic experience: Cordell was excellent! Kept us informed the whole time, treated the property and us with a great deal of respect, courtesy and gave good advice. We would highly recommend Cordell and HARCOURTS to anyone looking to sell.

Negative experience: My recent experience with Harcourts Devonport & Shearwater, particularly under the management of Ms. Ray Clout, was profoundly disappointing. Upon signing a lease for a property, I encountered multiple issues that rendered the residence uninhabitable: • Utility Disconnection: The property lacked electricity, and I was misinformed about the ease of setting up an account. The previous tenant had fully disconnected the supply, necessitating a complex reconnection process. • Inadequate Inspection Conditions: I was not informed that the property had no electricity or that I would not be able to properly view the interior until I arrived for the inspection. The viewing took place at twilight, and I had to rely on a mobile phone torch to inspect the property. • Privacy Breach: I received a full electricity bill of the previous tenant, containing sensitive personal and financial information, without any indication of consent. Despite these significant issues, the agency insisted on rent payment for a property I could not occupy. Communication was inconsistent, and resolutions were not forthcoming. This experience raises serious concerns about the agency’s professionalism and adherence to privacy standards. I advise potential tenants to exercise caution and thoroughly verify the condition and readiness of properties before entering into agreements with this agency.

Positive experience: Many tradies now take advantage of landlords (and young female rental agents) by exaggerating the cost of repairs. Usually by fabricating or doubling labour costs in reality to above $200 per hour. Then they carefully disguise these price gouging deceits with non-itemised invoices….with no mention of actual hours worked or why an “apprentice “ is also charged for on the books for what was clearly a one man job. Incidentally, Tradies are offered free T.A.F.E courses for trainees & ongoing large financial grant inducements to hire employees …. A good rental agent should have a knowledge of the current market labour cost of repairs & and willingness to protect landlords by: 1. by demanding full itemised invoices….and 2. by allocating the job to the increasingly rare tradies who demonstrate honesty and integrity. A rental agent has competing allegiances….1. The tenant 2. The landlord 3. The tradie. Rock and a hard place :) The most important of these obviously is me ! The landlord. Because without the landlord there’s no tenant or tradie ( or rental agent for that matter). In addition to the above discerning talents….Ray & Chantelle from Harcourts Shearwater are articulate & constant communicators, often phoning direct for instant clarifications, or taking instructions or offering …. I find….truely informative advice. They both action requirements well in advance. Chantelle & Ray are a team that is “on top of it”. Thanks ladies…..your diligence is much appreciated .

Negative experience: It started as a great experience when this was Beachwood. And then Harcourts took over and everything was just downhill after that. Erin should be trained properly before she is allowed to talk to customers. Every-time there was maintenance issue I had to follow up for months. I had to follow up for fixing my gas for four months and was becoming a security issue for my kids. And then end if the lease journey was terrible. I handed over the key as I was moving away from Devonport. I had that whole week to fix any necessary requirements but they never came back to me. I literally emailed myself and then they came back to next Momday by when I left already. They pointed out issues which wad already there before I moved. When I mentioned this to them they bargained with me for bond money for a month like they bargain in a farmer’s market. I didnt want to lengthen it too much as it was taking my personal time so I agreed to pay $150. Instead of taking $150 they only paid me $150. I was shocked. The lady said that they will return the money to me as it was a mistake. But what they didn’t understand was that now I have a record of paying so much amount as bond amount in mybond. This is going to reflect it in my tenant history. I paid all my rent on time. Lived in the house for 2 years. Compromised with all maintenance issue. And this is I got back from them. Very very green real estate agent. The fact that she didnt even come forward to talk to me after I inquired about my bond when no reply came from them says a lot about Erin

We’re very grateful that she did as we’ve now purchased our new home with her. It was online for less than 48 hours before we had a signed contract, and officially sold within 9 days of being on the market. Emily was always very friendly and down to earth, she kept us updated at every stage and nothing seemed difficult. Fantastic experience: Harcourts' agent Joe Laing was pivotal in helping us get a great price selling our Latrobe property. Joe responded quickly to our calls/emails (including our initial enquiry, unlike a popular agent at another Devonport agency) and put an extra effort into keeping us up-to-date on the marketing and sales process. He was happy to support our proposal for a sliding scale for the agency commission (rather than a flat percentage), and his expert knowledge of the local market meant we were able to set realistic expectations. We were able to rely on that same local knowledge for a recommendation on a reputable local conveyancer (Rae & Partners, who were fantastic too). Joe was patient with our need to think different things through, yet when needed he would gently prompt us without ever being pushy. In particular, the combination of an extensive Harcourts rental roll and Joe's skill in finding and fostering potential purchasers (such as current landlords who might be looking to expand their property investment portfolio) resulted in a strong offer we were happy to accept, without having to go to auction. Such effort and attentiveness in the lead-up to his wedding (congrats again Joe!) was exceptional – and he was back on the phone to us straight after his honeymoon to check in on us prior to settlement. Harcourts is very luck to have such a star agent in their ranks. I can't recommend Joe highly enough.

Ever willing to help where she can. I have a sneaky suspicion that behind closed doors, this lady is a superhero. And her day job at Harcourts is simply a cover. Negative experience: I've had good people but I have had alot of bad people to deal with an I can't recommend,we went through alot of stress an confusion heartache lies an nastiness from a few staff members an bad tendents first time renting our property out too,we won't mention names but it was very sad that none of them seemed to care about our property or want to update us or send reports it took months of asking via phone an email to get reports .. I will never put another one of my properties through them again . Or recommend them to any family or friends to sell or rent there properties through them maybe a different Harcourts but definitely not the Devonport store
