And it was a really positive, enjoyable experience which I wasn't necessarily expecting after years of looking at disappointing rental properties. Fantastic experience: We’re an Australian family living overseas, and buying a place in Melbourne while being so far away felt pretty overwhelming at first. We knew we needed someone local and reliable to guide us through the whole thing. That’s when we found Jim. From our first video call, Jim really stood out. He was upfront, honest, and super easy to talk to. We’d spoken to a few other buyer’s agents, but Jim gave us a good feeling straight away. Fantastic experience: I can't really say enough about Jim. From the first introductory phone call we knew he was our guy. This was our first property purchase and we were nervous. Jim had a very calm, and patient attitude about the whole thing and helped to really settle our nerves. He answered every single question we had and we had a lot! He did extensive planning and layed out several scenarios for us based on our budget, explained it all in detail and asked us which way we wanted to go and then got to work finding our house. Over the next couple weeks he showed us not only properties that would interest us but took the time to show us properties that he thought were not quite right for us to give us some comparison and perspective for what we were actually looking for. He kept using terms like "WE might want to look at this" or "this might be a good opportunity for US" as if he was buying this house WITH us and not just FOR us and it really felt like he was on this journey with me and my wife. His price was less for us than anybody else we spoke to but in any case ultimately with Jim doing the negotiating we not only found an amazing property with an awesome packet of land in a great location but we also saved probably 20-30 000 just by having Jim deal with all the crazy stuff. It was a very good deal for us to hire him. He answered question after question after question patiently and was always available for us to talk to whenever our nerves were getting the better of us. His calming influence talked us down from an anxious state many times and for that we're truly grateful because now we have a property that I doubt we would have ever found by ourselves. Fantastic experience: We had been scouring the market for over 6 months but nothing was hitting the mark. Fantastic experience: Back in 2019 I was very comfortable in a rented apartment at a great location but thinking of my future wanted to get into the property market. Got the pre-approval and went looking. I was quickly discouraged and convinced myself it wasn’t a good time to buy. Fantastic experience: A friend of our daughter and her partner recommended Jim Malamatinas after we had spent almost three years searching to buy a house. We had sold the family home we had built in Kew 15 years previously. We were "downsizers", but we still wanted a house with some garden and within a fairly specific area of Hawthorn. In between Lockdowns we ended up coming close to buying six different houses. We were outbid at two auctions and we were also tricked out of really bidding on a property by an unscrupulous agent who forced us to make a "blind bid" to be then be told we had missed out (even though we would have gone much higher than the sold price!)
