Negative experience: My experience is that the firm in this instance did not behave in acceptable appropriate ways, and the Dirctor Cambell Butterss tried to belittle me in front of his staff when I called out their errors in process. Ignoring the requirements of Owners Corps rules,erecting a large sales board on our property without consultation or permission, leaving security gates open without consent, and showing poor leardership skills on site by abusing me in front of his staff after I enquired.Therebye teaching his staff that attack was the acceptable form of defence.

Negative experience: I rented a property in Brighton East and my agent/property manager was Peta Blacklaw. I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed with the agent as she was unhelpful, unprofessional and rude. The house was not maintained properly, the heating/ cooling system was never cleaned and there was mould under carpets. The rent was very high, especially considering the state of the property! We didn’t realize at first how bad it was, until much later while living in it. The whole experience was bad and I’m so happy we were lucky to buy our own place. The rental and property market is a big scam in Australia.

Fantastic experience: After a number of years of renting we have never experienced the professionalism and assistance from a property manager we received from Peta Blackmore over this current lease. For once we had a person who is no doubt very experienced in this field, managed both sides to end up with win-win solutions. In our experience this just not happen and dealing with Peta was always a professional but pleasant experience. In short ... she always took the time to understand each situation on it's merits, kept us informed and always followed up. Fantastic experience: Jennifer O'Connell has been our property manager in Brighton for almost 2 years. We live in a beautiful home that unfortunately has been quite the lemon! From leaking roofs, cracked tiling, black mold, multiple leaking showers into heating vents and bedrooms underneath, skylights blowing off into the sky, cracked skylights, electrical issues inside and out, motor vehicle gate issues, pedestrian gate issues, heating and AC unit major issues and reduct the entire house........these are just the major issues that we have had since we moved into this gorgeous home! It has been almost a constant maintenance issue and not once has Jennifer shown her frustration. In fact, quite the opposite! She has been an REMARKABLE Property Manager and so compassionate to our situation in every way. She has never given up on any issue that was a complete puzzling nightmare and required multiple specialists to finally resolve the issue. It has been an insane amount of work and patience on her behalf and I have never dealt with a Property Manager quite like Jennifer. I cannot praise her enough and Marshall White are so blessed to have her! Thank you Jennifer!! Matthew & Marnie

Fantastic experience: As a first time landlord it has been a pain free & reassuring experience dealing with Melissa Gilder, very professional, prompt & took the time to explain all the questions I had & help navigate the unknown for me. Great feedback on how the open for inspections went & leased out the property in the blink of an eye. The Marshall White systems & transfer of information & paperless ‘paperwork’ was simple & easy to use. Overall a stress free & enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Negative experience: We totally agree with Nisha’s review. The way we have been treated by this property agent from Marshall White is absolutely awful and unprofessional. We have rented a house through Marshall White for nearly two years and always paid on time $ 4793 per month. During the entry inspection in August 2020 several issues were identified on the condition report, including but not limited to, scratches on the floor and stains on curtains and carpet. The exit inspection released by Stefanie Taylor in June 2022 mentioned again those defects but wrongly accusing us of having caused this damage. One of the most shocking points was the cleaning of the house. Before leaving in June 2022, we had paid $825 for a full house clean, using the cleaning company recommended by Marshall White. It didn’t prevent Stefanie Taylor in her exit inspection report to request another deep cleaning and further carpet cleaning of the house suggesting that we would have to pay again for this service. Isn’t it shameful to accuse us of leaving the house dirty whereas we had paid $825 for a one-day complete house cleaning using a company recommended by the Agency? Despite our feedback to the exit report we didn’t receive any answer from Stefanie Taylor, nor a single penny of our $6,300 Bond in the 14 day period. Instead, Stefanie Taylor advised us that an application had been made on our bond to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. With great cynicism she did not forget to add that in COVID “the bond hearings are currently backlogged and I note that it is taking around 12-18 months to get a hearing date at VCAT. “ In summary our bond is unfairly blocked and Stefanie Taylor will do her best to take the maximum from it, everything if possible. If you don’t want to live the same nightmare my only advice would be to avoid Stefanie Taylor and Marshall White if this agency supports this kind of behaviour.

Fantastic experience: Peta Blacklaw is the property manager of property managers. Period! There is no issue to small for her attention or too large for her to tackle...and trust me, we've had a few maintenance challenges to test her out! Apart from consistently being bright, cheerful and always understanding, she can even deliver inconvenient news with such a smile that we have always felt understood, taken care of and confident in her extremely capable hands. Peta has liaised between parties so eloquently, passing on communication and resolving any issues, that we have only ever sung praises of all of her interactions. If there was a 10 star out of 5 we'd have no hesitation rating the best property manager in town!

Negative experience: I strongly recommend AGAINST dealing with Marshall White Brighton. They charge a premium for their incompetence. My rental property was neglected for months and terribly mis-managed. The hack property manager emailed some photos of a routine inspection stating: “The renters are taking satisfactory care of the property” I had to educate the property manager that defecation and urine stains on the brand new carpets is NOT satisfactory. Along with other internal damages and over-grown yard. The property manager thought it was okay to steal my belongings and repeatedly lie about it until she ran out of excuses. I raised my concerns privately with the cowards at Marshall White months ago but they have opted not to reply. Why would anyone want to deal with a company that won’t communicate to help resolve issues? This demonstrates the calibre of chicken s**t that is running the Marshall White circus.

She always gave good options and had a positive attitude to the challenges of lockdown and no in person inspections. Our property was tenanted during lockdown which in itself is amazing. Highly rated and we are grateful for Victoria's advice and efforts.

Negative experience: Leasing agents often have a bad reputation for treating tenants unfairly - this is due to the likes of Stefanie Taylor. With her awful mannerism and appalling attitude, she is the absolute bottom of the pile. At circa $3200 in rent paid on time each month, we would’ve expected the bond to be refunded in a timely manner yet she didn’t lodge our bond refund at all and we ended up having to do it ourselves via RTBA. We wouldn’t have chosen the property if I knew she was going to be the property manager - we were originally appointed Jennifer O Connell and later got transferred over to this absurdly difficult Stefanie. Despite repeated requests to her manager Bonnie Shannon, our agent was not changed. I will be reporting them to Consumer Affairs to ensure they are fined for their illegal conduct including overcharged bond & final inspection without consent.

Fantastic experience: I had to sell a house whilst living in another state and unable to fly back to Melbourne. I also knew almost nothing about how to go about selling a house. You can imagine the problems this could cause. I found their service and recommendations really excellent. This included the people that did parts of the business they didn't (like conveyancing) that I also had no experience with. They were also really professional and good.

Fantastic experience: Am a tenant, my property manager is Jennifer O’connell. We were incredibly impressed with the customer service, professionalism and promptness when dealing with the office, especially Jen. On two occasions we required urgent maintenance with tradesmen being there within the hour and communication almost immediate. Fantastic experience: I recently engaged Lucy Arter, to seek a suitable tenant and rental fee for what was my home, in Brighton. Within ten days from signing up, the task was completed efficiently and professionally.... my house is now tenanted! Lucy was helpful, a good listener and responsive. I would recommend her services highly!

Negative experience: Disgusting and Dishonest Marshall White Brighton My Mother was completely lied too and mislead by Marshall White, specifically Robin Parker. We where invited to there office on Saturday afternoon as we had been informed that the property at 6 Tennyson was going to be sold that night. We dropped everything and where there with the clear intention of buying it. We made it crystal clear that this was the property that she was interested in and that there was no barriers to settling, My mother was paying cash, so no finance, we removed the request for a building inspection and was happy to meet any of the vendors terms in regards to a settlement date. Robin informed us of the offer on the table, 1795k. we matched it. "Dont go to far" he said, he was now going to talk with the Vendors. An hour later we where informed that the other interested party offered 1812k, without hesitation we went to 1825k, then told they have increased it to 1828k, we quickly moved to 1835k. After 10 minutes we get a call saying the property has been sold. My Mum is devastated as she had much more money in reserve to buy the property and not given a chance. Robins response was they wanted to go with a young family. On the surface this sounds understandable but this was never conveyed to us. Also where the vendors aware that we would pay 50k more. Marshall White where not acting in anyone's best interest except there own. We reached out to the vendor who politely replied and was as confused as we where, he was told that we where not that keen, wanting an inspection and where not prepared to go to the auction. All of it lies. In short Marshall White talked up the lower bidders and misrepresented us that where willing to pay more. Our last words to Robin was lets get this done. I feel Marshall White are only out for there own interest, they have short changed the vendor by Tens of thousands and completely used my Mother. I would never deal with the Marshall White Brighton Office. At this point in time we are awaiting an explanation to what really transpired and why. We ill be making alot of noise about this behavior as anyone who signs on needs to know about the People there dealing with. Absolutely Disgusted.

Negative experience: IF you continue to place your leaflets in my "No Junk Mail" letterbox, I will superglue them on your office windows!

Negative experience: There's a recent shift in culture with these guys who used to be alright. Representatives seem to have a soulless and clinical attitude and are without any respect or time for their clients, you are left to feel you are just a dollar figure. To be avoided.

Negative experience: We had identical issues to Darren Stone - on returning to our home, Marshall White did not forward any of the rates notices and we only became aware when we called the council and they told us we were about to get legal action. This is crazy and I cannot believe a legitimate business can get away with this. We pay for your screw ups? Seriously?

Positive experience: Rental Department - as a landlord I found them great to deal with at the start and very enthusiastic, I felt they under quoted a little just to get it rented quickly. Once signed up they had several staff changes in 15 months which made it slightly harder to deal with. Personally I think it is a hard job, but if no issues and a good tenant they get money for jam! Main issues where when we returned thing like my rate notice was never forwarded on and I got hit with Penalty Interest from Bayside City Council as it was unpaid and the Marshal White Rental BDM basically said bad luck, not their fault! I disagree and the notice was sent to them and never forwarded on to me. I would give 5 stars to there Real estate agents like Robin Parker, he is amazing to deal with when selling a property.
