Fantastic experience: A LIGHT HOUSE IN THE STORM My experience with Byron Coastal has been second to none. The rental market in this region is incredibly competitive and can feel dehumanising, particularly when you're navigating it as a single mother, rebuilding, and doing it alone. So many agents don't respond, treat you as a number, or make you feel invisible. Shyne was the complete opposite. From my first interaction with Lu, to every communication with Shyne throughout the process - she was kind, warm, compassionate and genuinely saw me as a human being. Shyne made me feel like a client, not a liability. She vouched for me when she didn't have to, and that made all the difference. I was genuinely facing homelessness with days to spare. Byron Coastal became a lighthouse in the storm. This business feels family run, community focused, and deeply ethical in the way it operates. In a market that can feel brutal and transactional, they are the exception. I cannot recommend Shyne, Lu and the Byron Coastal team highly enough. If you are looking for an agency that will treat you with dignity and care, look no further. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. All a mother wants is safety for her children. Fantastic experience: I am writing this review because I have dealt with many real estate agencies over the years, both as a tenant and as a property owner, including Ray White, McGrath, Harcourts, First National, and Island Life. As a tenant, it can be difficult to leave honest negative feedback because there is always a concern about how it might affect future lease renewals. Instead, I decided to leave a review for the best property management company I have experienced, and that is: Coastal Properties. As a renter, they have always been professional, responsive, and easy to deal with. They provide plenty of notice before inspections (usually around a month in advance), and whenever there has been an issue at the property—whether a water leak, an appliance problem, or general maintenance—they have arranged assistance very quickly. Their communication is excellent, and the team (normally I deal with Sonya, Julie and Jamie) is friendly, efficient, and genuinely pleasant to deal with. After experiencing many different agencies over the years, Coastal Properties stands out as the best property manager I have worked with. I rent in Byron mott street :) I highly recommend them. Trust me, I’ve tried a lot of them!!!

Negative experience: I am trying to find a new rental property . It is a very difficult and trying time particularly because there is very little on offer and lots of people looking. I have been trying to apply for a rental. The website is conveluted and every time you need yet more information, you leave the page to find said info and apon return all of the previously filled info is gone! Start again!!!. This is a particularly trying and busy time and I have waisted all morning on it and still have to start again. I haven't time for this

Negative experience: After almost 10 years as a tenant, I raised concerns about the agency bulk billing utilities instead of issuing them every 3 months as they should. Then, once my lease expired, they tried to charge me 6k+ for repairs and maintenance. The timing felt retaliatory, the claims seemed excessive, and much of it appeared to be normal wear and tear after such a long tenancy. Other tenants should be very careful with bills and records, as the agency does not appear to stay on top of basic billing responsibilities.

Fantastic experience: The team at Byron Coastal Real Estate managed my rental property in Suffolk Park for a few years. They always found excellent tenants and promptly managed maintenance issues. They have a good network of trades people to maintain the property. Staff are professional and friendly. I highly recommend them.

For the last 18 months, they have consistently been available to answer any questions, proactive about property maintenance, and quick to respond in the event of anything urgent. Positive experience: Julie is proactive ensuring the property is well maintained. Updates on various situations are prompt & communication is clear. Renting out the property has been a smooth worry free experience while living interstate.

Fantastic experience: I honestly could not fault one thing through the process! Luana was a dream to deal with through booking. Sandi went above and beyond when it came to the check in and out process- honestly amazing! She was kind and incredibly accomodating. And finally the house itself, just WOW. Words cannot even begin to explain how beautiful and perfect it was. It literally had everything. We had a big cooking day on the Saturday and the kitchen had every appliance under the sun. The beds were super comfortable, there was so much thought out into the layout of the house and all of the decor in it. The girls and I even went around just before check out to take photos of what we would love to be putting in our own homes. The Jai Vasicek art on the walls was just the most beautiful final touch- such a statement when you walk in the door! The only the I would recommend is a bit of a ‘cheat sheet’ of what the house has to offer - eg how to turn the fire on, where to get to the bikes and surf boards. Thank you so much for the best experience. I want to do it all over again!

Fantastic experience: We have just finished a health retreat with 13 people staying at 44 Lawson Street houses, and it was amazing. We were looking for accomodation that would provide an ocean view, a complete privacy including bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and walk to town. Both houses ticked all boxes and fully satisfied our expectations. We always have an amazing communication with Byron Coastal team, Luana is amazing. Booking it again in 24'.

Fantastic experience: I've been renting a long term property through them for around 6 years and service has been very good (Except a couple rude communications in the past by a staff member that I think no longer works there)

Negative experience: I wasn’t aware I needed to pay a deposit, the girl who called to request one while I was driving and couldn’t provide card details then and there was unnecessarily rude and snarky. I had my original property cancelled after paying 50% and didn’t mind being put into a different one, only problem is this wasn’t documented and I’ve since had two different people from the office ask me for the 50% already paid to air bnb. I haven’t even checked in yet and already feel a headache. Unorganised and poor customer service.

Negative experience: Wow, Kim - no need to be so angry or so rude. I was enquiring about a $1700pw (12 Bottlebrush) property and you hung up on me. I own property, all my friends own property. We would never use an agency that spoke to its customers let alone other people like this.

Negative experience: No stars for this company. Still got our bond 3 weeks after schoolies stating that the property hasn't been cleaned to the their standard, however managed to rent it out everyday after boys left the property. Very poor form

Fantastic experience: We rented a holiday apartment recently. The service was great - Fantastic communication, key pick up easy and bond returned promptly (1 week). They even posted back to me a clothing item i forgot. Spoke with Luana on the phone and via email and she was lovely to deal with. Booking via Stayz was quick and easy.

Negative experience: Be Aware of this Real Estate and holiday letting agent. Below is a complaint that I have sent to them with no response. Please also note that a complaint about the property was made upon arrival, in which we were told someone would come fix the problems. Only to receive a message on my mobile the next day stating that because it was such short notice, they couldn't get anyone to come fix anything. Another complaint was made upon check out only to be told that they would get someone to fix the property even though we had just checked out. Not much help really. We were then told to put our complaint in an email to be sorted. Again we were lied to as no response of any kind has been received. Hi Saskia, I would just like to address a few issues with the property that we were really not impressed with. First of all upon arrival at the property, we were unable to enter through the front door as the door lock does not work properly. So each and every time we went out, we had to lock up and go out the back door. That being said the back door locks were not much better to work with. The front door had a screen door which you were aware was so unbelievably broken, it was a pain to use day to day to allow air into the house. I understand that you were unable to have someone come and repair the door, however in my opinion it's not really good enough. There were large holes in the stain glass window in the sun room out the back in which were then sticky taped up to stop the plague of mosquito's getting in. Again, we shouldn't have had to call up for someone to come and make repairs, as the property should have been in full working order upon our arrival. There was not one single lock on any internal doors. You would think that with a house that has 4 bedrooms, there would be at least a lock on the bathroom door, toilet door and maybe one bedroom. Also there is no privacy in the front bedroom as you can clearly see through the stain glass panel. Hard to see how a group of people would ever stay in this property, There was also 1 ceiling fan in the house. Most people like to close their bedroom door at night so the air conditioning therefore is not sufficient. Also the house was very musty when we arrived as if it had been closed up for a very long time. I'm more than positive that if future potential families or groups knew all these things about the property, they would consider not booking it. In short, I don't feel as if the property was worth $830 per night. We have stayed in more holiday homes than I can count including in Byron Bay, and I have never been more disappointed. If I would have known all these things about the property, suffice to say that I would not have booked it. Therefore I am asking that you compensate us for our stay, as 4 Manfred street even at the busiest peak season, is not worth anywhere near $830 per night. I look forward to your response before close of business Thursday the 16/04/2015. Here's in anticipation that I get a response!!!!!
