Fantastic experience: We had the pleasure of dealing with Keeley PRIOR from Upstate Dee Why. Over the past 30 years of renting and dealing with real estate agents, I can confidently say that Keeley is the best property manager we have ever worked with. We are very grateful for her support and would warmly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional property manager. The context was far more complex than a typical tenancy. Although the building was brand new, the unit unfortunately came with many defects: several water leaks, broken or defective Miele appliances... In the first six months alone there were around 25 separate interventions or visits to resolve problems. Throughout all of this, Keeley was outstanding. She was incredibly responsive, proactive and committed, always working quickly to find practical solutions. What impressed us most was her balance and fairness: she was clearly looking after the landlord’s interests, but she also genuinely cared about the tenants’ experience. In three decades of renting, I have rarely seen someone so client-centric, professional and efficient. She handled every challenge with positivity and a constructive attitude, coordinating repairs, following up with contractors, and keeping communication clear at all times. Despite the complexity of the situation, she always made us feel supported. On top of this, another difficult situation arose when the owner decided to sell the property. Initially we had been told we could remain in the unit, but that decision changed abruptly and we were asked to vacate by 25 December, which understandably created a lot of stress for us. Keeley once again stepped in and managed the situation with great professionalism. At the last minute she was able to negotiate a two-month extension of the lease, which ended up being a win-win for everyone. The property ultimately did not sell during the six months it was on the market, and during that time there were frequent Saturday inspections which inevitably disrupted our routine. At the very end, when we were about to move out and had professionally cleaned the entire apartment, the selling agent attempted to organise inspections before Keeley had even completed the final inspection and key handover. Once again, Keeley handled the situation calmly and professionally, ensuring that the proper process was respected and that everything remained fair for everyone involved. Her ability to manage these kinds of situations with professionalism and balance was truly impressive. Throughout the entire tenancy, Keeley remained positive, solution-focused and extremely professional. Thank you again Keeley!!

Fantastic experience: Marco has been a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We were unsure on if we wanted to rent the initial apartment we viewed for a multitude of reasons, Marco was patient while we made our mind up.

Fantastic experience: I received a call from a woman named Ilijana, who claimed to be from Upstate, after 6pm. I have never spoken to Ilijana before. During the call, she brazenly questioned me about my specific unit purchase plans, despite me telling her I chose another agency. I found it rude that a stranger would interrogate me about my personal decisions. Previously, I had reached out myself and only spoke to someone named John from Upstate about leasing my unit, a simple enquiry and nothing more. I don't know if Ilijana got my number from him, or from their internal database. After the call, I checked her online profile to make sure her phone call was not some type or scam and interestingly, her business profile mentions she is a Business Development Manager at Upstate and describes her as 'warm and friendly. Trust me, she was anything but warm and friendly to me. She even texted me twice after her phone call, and it made her come across very desperate in trying to secure my business. I suggest to the Principal/s at Upstate to further train Ilijana to prevent such experiences with other clients, as her approach has harmed your agency's reputation and cost you my business at least. I would've been willing to speak with her had she presented herself with a proper introduction, mentioned the reason for her call and called me at a decent time during business hours. After this experience, it's really hard to recommend Upstate for your real estate needs.

Fantastic experience: I just moved to Sydney and was looking for a place urgently. Marco Cattaneo was the agent who organized the inspection and supported us with the rental process. We got it done and secured a place in 3 days from the inspection thanks to his professionalism, highly responsiveness and supportive attitude. He was very welcoming us during the inspections and walking me through multiple properties on Saturday and asked for my opinions for every single one of them in a very respectful and honest way. He helped us fasten the process by promptly guiding us to complete the application smoothly and took them to the owner very promptly. It was such a great experience working with him and thanks to this we can settle successfully in Northern Beaches area.

Negative experience: Reported urgent maintenance issue with no response to calls and emails after several days. Issue was addressed after complaint was escalated. Unfortunately, lease agent focus on putting time pressure to lease the property and after its done, customer service drops, slow communication, hard to get awnsers, etc.

Fantastic experience: Upstate team were excellent to work with. Very attentive and quick to communicate.

Negative experience: An absolute disaster of an agency! both the property management team and the sales department completely failed on every level. The property managers were nowhere to be found when issues came up, showed zero competence, and constantly dropped the ball on even the simplest responsibilities. The sales team was even worse, no strategy, no effort, no communication, and no real selling skills whatsoever. It honestly felt like my property was being handled by people who had no idea what they were doing. A total waste of time, money, and patience. The whole experience was extremely negative, but at least it taught me exactly which agency I will never deal with again. Definitely not recommended to anyone who wants their property taken seriously.

Signing the lease and completing all paperwork online was very convenient. The rental payment system through DEFT was also easy to use and hassle free. Throughout my tenancy, I found James, the property manager, to be excellent in communication. Whenever there were any issues, they were addressed quickly and efficiently. I appreciate that the agency's properties which they manage have owners who understand the importance of maintenance, as all repair requests were honored promptly.
