Negative experience: Be warned. Absolutely terrible. Cost me thousands and thousands after a multitude of broken promises. They were meant to be taking care of my property as I live interstate to find absolutely no care in what is right. I could go on and on. Avoid at all costs!

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with Matthew Constantine and his team. From the inspection through to settlement everyone involved made my experience of first time home ownership a very smooth process. Matthew was quick to respond to all my questions and correspondence throughout and worked seamlessly with my buyer's agent and myself to place me into a cracker of a property.

Negative experience: INCOMPETENT PROPERTY MANAGEMENT - RUN AWAY! In good faith I trusted Barry Plant to manage my property until I discovered shocking mismanagement! 1st - the lease expiry was not discussed with my tenants until 4days before it expired!! 4 days!!! Other firms start lease negotiations 4months before expiry, a basic fundamental role of a property manager (PM). When I questioned the property manager, I was given a dismissive and arrogant response which gave me no confidence in them! 2nd - whilst reconciling to identify other failings, I discovered the PM had emailed me notifying of a routine inspection scheduled AFTER the lease expired. Obviously this would have been another opportunity for the PM to discuss the expiring lease but they neglected to. After I appointed a new agent I found that I was the only one notified of the routine inspection! Which leads me to wonder, if I was told about the inspection and the tenant wasn’t… do they ever ACTUALLY complete routine inspections? Or do they lie to make you think they do? 3rd - only after I changed agents, I received an invoice for works Barry Plant carried out but did not obtain my authorization for. Stay away from these crooks

Fantastic experience: Kieron and Cam were a pleasure to deal with. Together with their regular communication and detailed reports, their knowledge and expertise of the area, and their guidance and support throughout the whole process was very open, honest and professional. We were made to feel at ease with what was an emotional time.

Negative experience: I had an investment property managed by Barry Plant Highton for a couple of years. I recently made the wise decision to take the management elsewhere based on the following reasons; - Annual smoke alarm compliance check was not conducted on the due date and had been missed altogether. - The constant change of managers was confusing and ongoing. Recently I was not made aware I had a new property manager. - The last routine inspection report was not forwarded to myself and I had to chase up. - A simple strata payment took longer than I was advised and it was up to me to chase. - No communication was raised prior to the lease expiring about extending and if applicable rental review. - The constant follow ups I had to conduct was disappointing. - I was notified that my tenants tried to contact the managers about signing a new lease but their communication went unanswered. - The management department did not have any safety compliance reports to forward on to my new manager. Again, it was up to me to successfully locate. Recently I have been extremely disappointed with the management service. Paying 8.8% management fee and not receiving the service expected. I understand they have had a few issues recently with managers leaving, however I feel that has left my property exposed to risk. I shouldn't have to manage the managers. Upon changing management I feel confident as they respond within a timely manner and are proactive.

Fantastic experience: Very grateful for Deane Hughes help in selling my property. Deane has taken the pro-active approach and has given me lots of valuable advice without me asking. Negative experience: The amount of junk mail we get from Barry Plant Highton is ridiculous. It’s way too excessive and I hate to think how much waste they’re going through by dumping this much at every household. This is a picture of what we’ve received just the past couple of days - and this has happened every week (usually there’s more over the full course of the week) since we moved to the area over a month ago. I’m not opposed to advertising and mail drops, but this is a joke

Fantastic experience: We recently sold our house via auction (the same house we purchased through Kieron via auction years ago). Kieron is a great marketer with excellent area knowledge of Highton and beyond. He has a keen eye for detail and we were very happy with the marketing package put together for our campaign. Theyhave been very polite in accommodating my relatively unreasonable request but were also professional enought to make the per suggestions when it mattered. I would have loved very consistent updates but then again I never specified that and to their credit, all major updates were communicated in a timely fashion.
